Depends: How bad it is. Some side effects like diarrhea are just temporary nuisances. Other side effects are more problematic. If you are concerned make the call. Put your mind at ease.

Likely a side effect: Augmentum can cause diarrhea. Make sure you see your doctor after as any antibiotics can cause C. Diff that presents initially as diarrhea.

Not concerned: Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) is not typically used for UTIs and it can certainly cause diarrhea. Call your doctor to get your medication changed.

Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate): As you said commonly causes diarrhea, unless it is so bad you can't take the medication there is no reason to call the doctor. Go to the pharmacy and get some probiotics, this will help with this side effect. Make sure you are also getting plenty of fluids.
