Call your dr.: You can tell your parent(s) and they can cll your Dr. as unfortunately, menstrual pains can be common and there are several Rx medications approved for the pain. if the pain is new, you should see the Dr. for an exam as well. Best wishes.

Painful period: Symptomatic helpful things are Aleve, (naproxen) hot pads, warm baths. If this is new or more severe than usual would make an appointment to see your doctor. Sometimes birth control pills can be helpful.

Try...: You can lay warm compresses over the cramping area. Also try over the counter medications such as ibuprofen or naproxen. This is of course if you have no allergies to these medications. If pain continues, see your MD.

Period Pain: Dysmenorrhea Tx: NSAID’s, SSRI’s, hormone meds, OTC meds containing diuretics, warm bath, heating pad, exercise & acupuncture are excellent for dysmenorrhea. Avoid caffeine, chocolate, alcohol & salt. Get GYN eval to R/O underlying pathology. Consider omega- 3 fatty acids, magnesium (supplementation or through diet) or Black Cohosh with dr ok. Sipping Chamomile can dissipate pain.
