Electrolytes: Electrolytes are normal chemicals that include sodium, potassium, chloride and bicarbonate (sodium bicarbonate). The levels can be affected by your body's state of hydration, use of some medications, kidney function, and many medical conditions. If your are well and not taking any medications that alter electrolyte balance, the best way to maintain balance is to keep hydrated and eat a balanced diet.

Electrolytes: Electrolytes are minerals that circulate in our blood and also live in our cells. The most common electrolytes are sodium, potassium, calcium, phosphate, magnesium, bicarbonate, (sodium bicarbonate) and chloride. They are essential for cell and tissue functions and water balancing. To stay balanced, eat a healthy diet of mostly fruit and vegetables and nuts. Drink about 3 liters of fluid. Avoid soda.

An electrolyte: Forma an ion when dissolved in water, unless your diet is extreme there is nothing you can do to change them, your body tightly controls them unless you have certain diseases.
