Common effects are .: Headache, nausea, abdominal pain and fatigue. There are others but they are rather uncommon. Overall it's a rather well tolerated medication. Hope this helps.

Valtrex (valacyclovir): Hi, I have not seen a lot of side effects among my patients although we always watch the liver function test and also Complete Blood Count. Some people develop nausea, stomach upset, headache, abdominal pain, dizziness and diarrhea, the more serious side effects are very rare including TTP, aplastic anemia and etc.

Few side effects: Headache, nausea and vomiting are the most common side effects of using Valtrex (valacyclovir is its generic name), though they happen rather infrequently based on my experience prescribing the anti-viral medication.
