Need diagnosis first: The possible causes of your cough include acute bronchitis, bronchospasm from any etiology, GERD, post-nasal drip or even a combination of these factors. All of these possibilities have different treatments so see your doctor so your cough can first be diagnosed and then treated. Over the counter cough meds typically don't treat the underlying cause of the cough! So, see your doctor ASAP!
