Yes: Yes, air in the stomach could make it hard to breathe. If this becomes more frequent you will need an examination by a physician. You may have a condition where you mouth breathe and swallow air called aerophagia. If the amount of swallowed air is so large it can cause abdominal bloating, intestinal pain and excessive burping and belching. When anxious, you may swallow air without realizing it.
