Bloody Sunday: Expect some bleeding after a D and C but it should reduce to spotting soon. As for your regular period, it depends on where you are in your cycle right now and why you had the D and C. The two could confuse the picture for a month or two until you get back on track, assuming no complications or medications bloodying the scene. If the bleeding is still heavy after a few more days, call your doctor.

Common: I believe the first menstrual period after a D&C is frequently very heavy. Also, if you were started immediately on a contraceptive medicine, that change in hormone levels can contribute. Consult the doc who did D&C if the bleeding does not decrease in the next day or 2.
