Corneal abrasion: Any corneal abrasion should be looked at my an eye doctor and they would be the one to take care of that.

Remove rust rings: In general rust rings should be removed unless not new. Cornel abrasion should be treated with combination antibiotic steroid qid and then seen in a few days. If the eye is very painful or very a, place a short acting anticholinergic (mydriatic) drop and a topical NSAID drop in the office. No not patch. Do not prescribe any ocular anesthetics.

Several: Most of these will heal over in 12-18 hours unless there is another associated problem. In our offices we will apply a bandage lens - a soft lens which stops a lot of the pain of the lid dragging across the bare open area. Do not use ointment - delays healing. Lubricating drops are fine and gentle antibiotics if infection is suspected - so avoid sulfas. Rust rings - remove them.
