See a doctor: I'd probably go back to your doctor and get it examined again. Sometimes there can be breaks that don't show up on the initial x-ray. I usually tell my patients that the pain can get worse for up to 5 days after an accident, but after that it should start to get better. If it is getting worse, to come back and we will re-examine and maybe repeat the x-rays.

Something's wrong.: Just because your x-rays were negative doesn't mean nothing's wrong. You may have sprained or strained muscle, tendon, ligament or connective tissue. A thorough physical exam may identify the injured structure(s) and physical therapy may speed recovery and prevent complications. Sometimes fractures aren't visible on initial x-rays, so your doctor may want to order another set.
