A member asked:

Whenever i have skin trauma, eg. shaving, my skin produces a white/brown substance which has a smell. this persists until the heals. what is substance?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Huh: Well, white seems like it would be an infection. Brown seems like it would be dried blood. Most likely it is serosanguinous fluid, but without seeing it, hard to know for sure. Sounds like this has been happening all your life? If so, probably not much to worry about. If something new, would go and see your primary care physician and they can provide a better answer.
