Arthritis: That all depends obj where your arthritis is. But for almost any arthritis aerobic exercises are good and rom motion exercises for the offended joint.

Weights and Cardio: Light weight training will strengthen the muscles around the joints without taxing the joints too much. Low impact aerobic work such as swimming and elliptical machine will be beneficial as well.

Water: Low impact. Water based exercises are ideal because you can exercise hard with very little impact.
