Unwise: Fruit has no nutritional value in and of itself if that is your only source of calories. If you have no protein and no fat calories you will not live long. You also will not have good health without enough protein and fat calories to keep your hormone and immune systems functioning normally. The main source of your calories must be proteins. No ifs, ands, or buts.

Not necessary: No need to be frutarian. In fact, vegetables have more nutrition per calorie than fruits (and therefore are more calorie efficient) because they have less sugar. And even then, vegetarians must be mindful about getting all essential nutrients, for example B vitamins. I don't see the advantage of a fruitarian diet over a vegetarian one. Hope that helps.
