Rhogam: Rh- patients are routinely given an injection of rhogam after a delivery, miscarriage, or bleeding in pregnancy to keep them from developing antibodies to the blood of a future Rh+ baby unless the baby delivers and is found to also be Rh-. Since with a miscarriage, it is not possible to know if the fetus was Rh+, you need Rhogam. Ideally it is a shot given within 72 hours.
