Depends on last sex: Most home urine pregnancy tests can detect a pregnancy within 8-14 days of conception (read package insert). if you had sex more recently than that, you could be pregnant despite a negative test. If you are concerned about becoming pregnant, then the best way to prevent one would be to either abstain or to use an effective form of contraception. Either beats the alternative!
