A member asked:

Upper and lower back and flank pain, fewer bm's than normal that are soft but i have to strain to expel them with a feeling of incomplete evacuation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly IBS: You may have irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Patients may have alternating diarrhea/constipation, symptoms of incomplete evacuation, vague generalized abdominal pain/cramping, and mucous in stool..your upper and lower back/flank pain is not usually part of the symptoms seen and may or may not be related..I would suggest you see your local doctor to be evaluated
