Metformin: Metformin is used in diabetes to cause more efficient use of insulin in the body, resulting in better glucose control. It is also used in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) to improve insulin efficiency and decrease testosterone production. Ultimately may result in weight loss in PCOS. It does not specifically stimulate the ovaries.

Not directly...: But it improves or abates insulin resistance, the cause of PCOS or polycystic ovary syndrome, which causes anovulation!
