Small frequent meals: There is nothing wrong with a salad as long as you do not drown it in dressing. If you find that you are always hungry, an option may be to eat small meals frequently throughout the day. Protein, whole grains, and high fiber will have more staying power; hummus with carrots, almonds or any other dry roasted nuts, yogurt with fruit are some suggestions.

Eat the salad.: Always better to eat if your hungry - your body is telling you it needs something. Just have a light salad if you want to watch your calories - mixed greens with vegetables and some light dressing will do, perhaps with a little tuna or salmon added for protein.
