Serious: I strongly suggest a full physicial and neurological evluation- not sure what "sometimes" means, however, do NOT ignore these symptoms!

What is dead?: I will assume you mean either a numb feeling or being unable to move. Very different implications. In either case, you should probably consult a practitioner, perhaps even a neurologist. If sometimes unable to move, do it right away.

Get examined...: You are describing neurological symptoms that should be evaluated by your physician. They will get further history, do an exam, and determine if any diagnostic testing is warranted. It is concerning to have an entire side of your body go numb, please get evaluated.
