Make sure it's BV: Antibiotics, like Metronidazole gel, are usually the best way to cure BV. However, if you've used antibiotics and continue to have symptoms, you need to be rechecked to make sure that there isn't another cause for your discharge and discomfort. Many infections can cause similar symptoms.

BV: See a doctor. BV is treated with prescription intravaginal creams ( clindmycin,metronidazole) or oral medication(clindamycin, metronidazole, tinidazole). Oral is better. No alcohol while on metronidazole and for 72 hours after treatment. BV risks multiple/ new partner, douching, condoms. Lactobacillus acidophilus, a probiotic can be taken in capsule form. Effectiveness controversial
