Cannot say: in your particular case. Lytic lesion would imply a cancer eating away at the bone. Mostly it would really hurt. Real vs artifact: Did you discuss with the MD who ordered the X-ray? Why was it ordered in first place? Lytic lesions have to be evaluated farther. First repeat the film make sure it's truly there. If it is, you need to have more studies done to determine what it really is.
