B12 nerve damage: Healing of nerves after vitamin B12 deficiency takes different amounts of time, depending on how severe and how long lasting the deficiency was. Nerves also heal slowly. They do not heal until after the B12 level is restored to normal. In my experience, recovery takes 2-3 months, although I have seen it take 12 months, and sometimes healing is not complete. Most cases have a good outcome.
