Sunshine,eyes: Since you were inside where it was darker than being in the sun your eyes had adjusted to that light. Our eyes dilate to see better in darker surroundings. When you glanced outside into bright sunshine your eyes did not have time to adjust and all the light hit the back of your eyes, causing pain to that nerve. Next time, give your eyes time to adjust to brighter light.
