A podiatrist: can determine if there is piece of nail growing into the skin or an infection. This can be corrected if that is the case. Take care.

Ingrown toenail: An ingrown toenail occurs when the nail plate cuts into the skin on the side, causing bleeding and inflammation of the affected skin. The skin can sometimes try to grow over the nail plate, causing a "lump". This can lead to a vicious cycle of infection and pain. Factors that can exacerbate this include wearing tight shoes and activity in sports. A doctor can perform a partial toenails removal
