Very unlikely: This type of thing is usually mucous. This is not uncommon especially if someone has irritable bowel syndrome. If no blood, no diarrhea , no pain and no weight loss , would not be concerned. Note that diabetics can have a type of bowel problem consistent with an enteropathy but this does sound benign.

Likely pill: If there is no associated pain or noting any dark or bloody stools, it is likely not worrisome. This could represent a partially digested pill, more commonly vitamin, or possibly even a gallstone. If concerned, you should mention this to your doctor and attempt to obtain a sample to bring in for further analysis.
