Expired medicine: It really depends on how expired it is. But I would say in this case no don't take it.

No harm done: The actual shelf life of Pepto-Bismol is a lot greater than what is indicated by the expiration date. Old Pepto Bismol (bismuth subsalicylate) may lose some of its efficacy, but there are no other significant untoward effects.
