Sepsis and diuretic: It probably is safe,but must be monitored by your doctor who knows you well. Kidneys can be injured by sepsis and a diuretic can worsen renal insufficiency. Fluid retention though is not good and should be reduced with a gentle diuretic.

If prescribed.: If it is a medication that you normally take it would be OK to resume. Don't take it if you haven't in the past and check with your physician. The reason for concern is that sepsis can play havoc with the kidneys and all diuretics work in and thru the kidney. Secondly, with sepsis and all infections, dehydration may be a factor. Drink plenty of fluids, exercise lightly and be patient.
