No: No plantar warts do not become general words. You do not get genital warts from contact with another person with plantar warts.

Different strains: So while the warts on hand, feet and genital are all caused by the same virus HPV, - which I know is creepy to think about - it really likes the neighborhood and has no plans to move down to the "Short North" so to speak, due to diff. strains.Keep in mind however that Warts anywhere are quite infectious and should be treated accordingly to minimize chances for spread to other contiguous regions.

Warts: The simple answer to this question is yes. But, it is not highly contagious. Plantar warts are more common in people with cuts or open sores and in children aged 12 to 16 years old, though plantar warts do appear in all age groups.
