Is it true that gallbladder removal can play a part in causing type 2 diabetes?

No: No, gallbladder removal (cholecystectomy) is not a risk factor for developing or worsening type 2 diabetes. Being overweight is a risk factor for both, bot the gallbladder removal per se has no effect on type 2 diabetes risk.
