Yes: Very likely to have been a HSV outbreak. Occasionally it can be Varicella Zoster Virus though. You need to talk to your PCP about getting on a strong antiviral medication by mouth.

Not likely: HSV life cycle is 14 days. Itchy bumps are sometimes present during a Staph infection. See your doc soon.
