Primary care doctor: Start by seeing your primary care doctor, who can take your history, examine you, and get the appropriate tests and treatments started. If necessary he/she will refer you to a gastroenterologist who may do more tests and/or add more treatments as needed.

Chronic Gastritis: Pain after eating for 2 years may be due to chronic gastritis. However, hunger pain worsening on empty stomach sign of peptic ulcer disease. Common causes of both gastritis and peptic ulcer disease, including: Helicobacter pylori infection and reflux esophagitis, whereas other exogenous causes, such as gastrinoma need to be excluded. I would recommend see your primary care physician first.
