Antifungal treatment: I would recommend a trail of Antifungal cream or lotion for at least 2 weeks. While steroid creams help with itching, they often make Fungal skin infections (Jock Itch) worse. Even with treatment, Fungal skin infections can return, but are usually controlled by repeat courses of the antifungal creams or by using Selsun shampoo as a lotion on the affected area 5 min prior to bathing.
