Throat: Could be a sign of silent acid reflex (LPR), allergies or just dryness. If you're drinking enough fluid then silent acid reflex may be the culprit. Lots of info on it on the web md site

Recurr. pharyngitis: If you still have your tonsills, it may be recurrent tonsillitis or tonsil stones. Gargle with salt-water after every meal to reduce tonsil debris. If not better, see pcp for cultures. You may also have allergies with post-nasal drip. Try an OTC anti-histamine and 2-3 days of decongestant use to see if improves. gastric reflux can do this also, try OTC Maalox or Zantac (ranitidine) / Prilosec for relief.
