ANS dysfunction: Low ANS dysfunction is sort of a puzzling way to put it. If you do have diabetes mellitus (the most common cause of autonomic nervous system, or ANS, dysfunction), then the amount of damage to the ANS from diabetes mellitus is low. If you do not have diabetes mellitus you should have healthy heart rate variability. Talk to the doctor who ordered the test for more details. ENG is a different test.
