Not always: VDRL is still time honored inexpensive test for mass screening of syphilis , some times will give false positive results , then need as in yours , more specific tests like like RPR , FTA-RBS etc type of tests are needed Check with your doctor , Doxycycline may not be right drug , First diagnosis has to be established before undergoing any treatment .

Hello doctor! I tested for syphilis RPR TP-PA at 45 and 58bdays. 13 days post exposure prior to test i took doxycyline 200 mg2x a day for 10 days. Are mybresult conclusive? Thank you?
Hello doc, I want to ask the Prozone phenomenon on the syphilis test only affects the VDRL test? can the TPHA test be affected by the prozone phenomenon?
