Brazil nuts: These nuts contain a very small amount of a radioactive substance known as radium. However, this small amount is still many, many times more than is found in other foods. That being said, the radium is internal to the nut, and will not likely be found on clothes unless the nut is rubbed on the clothing.

Are you feeling bad?: Radiation is all around us in small amounts. The Brazil nuts have more than other food but it is still very small. Can you tell us what happened that is worrying you? Are you feeling sick? We only understand the effects of large doses of radiation. There is no evidence that the small doses from uncontaminated foods and in the buildings and soil around us are harmful. No one can avoid radiation.
