Topical treatment: of eczema is the main strategy. This is usually a steroid like hydrocortisone, but can be a problem in your hair. Many of the shampoos that are tar-based shampoos can be massaged in and let sit for 15 mintutes and then rinse out. Over the counter Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for symptoms of itching can be helpful depending on her age. Sure this is not psoriasis? If she is not improving see a provider.

See a dermatologist: Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is NOT useful for this, will NOT reduce the itch, and can be harmful. The baby needs help immediately. Dermatologist best, at least a pediatrician. First establish a diagnosis. GO NOW.
