The skull: is a bony structure and as such, is resistant to change. The brain is affected by malnutrition especially B! (thiamine) and brain degeneration can occur. takes much more than 10 days..generally years of alcoholism. Malnutrion or serious illness can trigger rapid development of symptoms in days; but only on top of other abuse. http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/1146086-overview
