Extractions: The advil (ibuprofen) alone is enough for inflammation and mild pain relief. No reason to take the hydrocodone if the pain is not severe.

Treat on symptoms: Alternating hydrocodone and ibuprofen is not necessary if Ibuprofen is sufficient to treat your pain. Of course, follow up with your dentist.

Ok to take: ibuprofen alone, but if the pain gets bad you can use the hydrocodone as well. no need to alternate necessarily as they can be taken together as well.

Fine if pain control: You do not need to take hydrocodone if your pain is adequately controlled by Advil. The interactions between Cymbalta (duloxetine) and Advil are incr. risk of bleeding, SIADH, hyponatremia (NSAID antiplatelet effects augmented by inhibition of platelet serotonin). Caution is advised. Low salt in the blood can cause seizures and swelling. If you take it often, may need salt monitored.
