BPH: BPH unheard of at age 24 when your symptoms(which you haven't mentioned what they are)started.Incomplete bladder emptying can happen with prostatitis. I have never seen BPH at your age in 31 years of practice. The fact that your symptoms "magically" improved on flomax (tamsulosin) may be co-incidental.Flomax (tamsulosin) can relieve BPH symptoms but does not "cure" BPH. In any case, the main ting is that you are better.

No: I'm happy the Flomax (tamsulosin) did the trick. It helps by relaxing a type of muscle by blocking some of the nerves. It has no effect on the size of the prostate although there are other meds that may shrink it.
