A member asked:

Do hormonal imbalances in the mom make a baby more prone to baby acne? i have pcos. also, can lactose intolerance in baby cause rash similar to acne?

No: Baby acne is very common in newborns, and is not caused by the same factors as teenage acne. It usually goes away by itself so you don't have to worry. Sometimes it gets worse if the baby has flakes in his/her scalp and/or has cradle cap, seborrhea. In that case, use Selsun Blue shampoo to wash his/er hair. I've been recommending this for 40 years, so it's safe

2 for 99 special: Your 2 questions for 99 sale answers are as follows: Most fetus' are developing their own hormone systems free of the mother after delivery and acne is usually not a fetal problem. Lactose intolerance by the infant is manifested by colic as gas and usually to formulas and not mother's milk. Rashes are not a part of the same.
