No: 1. There is very little evidence supporting prescription muscle relaxants for back pain. 2. Muscle relaxants are really central nervous system relaxants. 3. The key to back pain is patience. Yes: I prefer non sedating relaxants and my favorite is robaxin (methocarbamol) if there are no contraindications.
