Dental work: The clot will heal and the wound will eventually close as long as you allow it to heal - Don't tough it too much in the early days of healing

The blood clot: covers the extraction socket and allows the area to heal. It's important for a blood clot to form to stop the bleeding after wisdom tooth extraction and begin the healing process. For 3-4 days after surgery do not brush the area to prevent dislodging of the blood clot from the socket.
