Should not: It may be uncomfortable depending on the type of test used but it should not hurt. Urodynamic tests can be from simple observation to precise measurements using special instruments. For precise measurements, imaging equipment takes pictures of the bladder filling and emptying, pressure monitors record the pressures inside the bladder, and sensors record muscle and nerve activity.

Overview: Most urodynamic tests involve catheter insertion into the urethra. The urologist will then measure several aspects of function and flow of the urine and bladder. Not usually severe pain, sedation is not required. A lubricant is typically placed on the catheter which is small enough to pass through the urethra. Possibly pressure and slight discomfort. They will typically make you comfortable

Uncomfortable: I can say that most of my patients feel some discomfort with the procedure especially with filling of their bladder. At this point I think it probably is something that you need to have done that would help you to understand your urinary condition and is extremely helpful to your physician. Just stick in there and I think you get the information that you need to be able to help your condition
