UTI: Simple UTI is very simple to treat with only 3 days of Antibiotics therefore if you have not responded to 8days of it you should have either a complicated UTI or on wrong Antibiotics or you don't have UTI but have another problem, I suggest that you see your PMD for further investigation of this urinary trouble.

See your doctor: Any recurrent problem requires a closer look. Urinary tract infections, while improved with antibiotics, require an adjustment in lifestyle sometimes, if your daily routine has changed. Cotton panties, good hydration, urinary acidification with drinking of cranberry juice, and good hygiene are all part of the regimen that canl help you avoid recurring infections. See your doctor for next steps

See physician: It would be a good idea to see your physician for an exam and a urine culture and a urine chlamydia check, if sexually active without protection of a condom. If the antibiotic is Bactrim, (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) you could try Macrodantin (nitrofurantoin) for a resistant E. coli infection first.

Probably not treated: I would say that this time that you may need to be treated with a different anabiotic since after about three days typically antibiotics will treat a urinary tract infection. On a urine culture it typically tell sensitivities two different antibiotics and this may or may not have been done in your case.
