Cough yellow sputum: From your brief description you may have bronchitis and infection of the tubes in your lungs. You should be treated and recommend you see your doctor and make that is just that nothing else more serious.

See md for consult: A typical cold virus can last 10-14 days and be associated with symptoms like fever, runny nose, nasal congestion and cough. The cough can be productive. If you have a cough that is not able to be controlled with over the counter meds, would recommend visit with your doctor. Some coughs may be related to pneumonia which would require antibiotics. Doctor may order Chest xray to confirm

See your doctor: Eugene, first of all, do you smoke? If so, stop. Smoking leads to chronic cough, but even worse, COPD and lung cancer. Otherwise, an acute cough is usually an upper respiratory infection or bronchitis, both benign viral infections. If it isn't going away, you probably need to see your doctor and get an Xray to rule out pneumonia. Hope this helps!
