Several possibilitie: I would need more information. Important questions would be your age, if your baseline blood pressure was too high or too low, if you are on hypertensive medications, if you have any medical problems that are being treated. In general, since it has been going on for 10 years, it is unlikely that it is anything serious. But a good general checkup with a PCP, including blood testing is first.
