Gallbladder cancer: is very rare. Just because you have stones, does not mean you need to have your gallbladder removed. Why did you have a gallbladder US anyway if you are not having symptoms. Discuss this with your surgeon for further details, but in essence, an asymptomatic gallbladder, even with stones, does not require removal.

No cancer: There is no clinical evidence that the presence of GB stones can induce malignancy. Previous experiments had once shown the placement of human stones in the GB of cats.could produce a tumor. . In the asymptomatic patient small stones don't cause acute cholecystitis, but can pass into the duct impacting the ampulla. I wouldn't rush to surgery but be followed carefully for symptoms.
