Not normal: C-section shouldn't cause stinging urination. A UTI is certainly possible. Get a urinalysis, and if it suggests infection, make sure a culture is sent to see if you have an unusual hospital bug.

Symptoms of: infection are typically increased frequency of urination, urgency of urination, hesitancy of urination, superficial burning or deep bladder discomfort with urination. Odor and cloudy urine may or may not be present with urinary tract infection (UTI). A catheter could result in your symptoms but can also increase risk for developing UTI. Best to get tested if this persists any longer.
