No: WPW is a specific type of tachycardia. There are lots of causes of tachycardia. Have you been seen by a doctor to have your tachycardia evaluated?

Not necessarily: Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome is a specific conduction abnormailty of the heart that can cause tachycardia. Tachycardia just means fast heart rate and there are many different types. Your doctor should be able to tell you which one you have. If you do have Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome you can be prone ot sudden episodes of very rapid heart rate. There are several effective treatments.

Get checked: Tachycardia can be due to many causes, but Wolf-Parkinson-White syndrome is a rather uncommon one. If, however, you are experiencing episodes of tachycardia, and if during an episode you have any symptoms such as faintness, weakness, sweating or more, then get checked as soon as possible by a cardiologist or skilled primary care physician.

Not usually WPW: Tachycardia, or a rapid heart rate (more than 120 beats per minute in an adult) happens all the time to everybody in certain circumstances (running, fear, excitement, etc ). Some extreme forms of tachycardia are due to an electrical defect in the heart's conduction system & Wolf-Parkinson-White Syndrome is an uncommon form of it. An EKG can sometimes tell the cause of tachycardia, but not always
