Postperiod discharge: Occasionally, a clot or tissue may block the flow of menstrual blood, indicating your period is "over". Then the clot liquifies, and since the bleeding which was blocked is old blood, it will turn brown. The light cramping may represent uterine contractions which will push tissue or a clot out, but this will give you cramps. If this continues, see your healthcare professional.
